You know when two of the darkest minds get together you're in for a hell of a ride.
In Vlad we are introduced to the First Families. The First Families are all involved in different criminal activities and all have their designated area of expertise. The most powerful of the First Families are the Vasiliev's. Vlad is the oldest offspring of Yuri Vasiliev. The heroine-Irina-is the youngest daughter of the Volkov family.
The V Games are like the Hunger Games, where different competitors train all year and then compete against others competitors from different families. The book is not completely focused on the V Games itself, but of the corruption and under-handed schemes surrounding everyone taking part in the V Games. Vlad is the epicenter of it all- a master schemer used to getting his way. He is cunning, and selfish. Irina has been sheltered her whole life. She was foolish at times, and naive, but never overbearingly so. Her innocence is what draws Vlad to her, and Irina is his perfect little doll. One he realizes he simply cannot do without.

Without giving too much away, I have to tell you that I enjoyed this book extremely. Corruption, hot sex, family drama. This book had it all. Although it wasn't as dark as some of the books I've read, it was just dark enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. I finished this book in one go (If only it was longer!), and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
