I previously read The End Zone as a part of the Team Player: A Sports Romance Anthology.
I love L.J. Shen. I have said it before: if Leigh writes it, I will read it. This was a quick, hot read by her, and if you've read Leigh's books before, you know exactly how hot I'm talking. I had to read The End Zone for the extended epilogue it came with, and *fans self*, boy was it something.
Sage and Jolie's story is a simple friends to lovers romance. Sage is a manwhore, while Jolie is the girl he's always put on a pedestal. They've been friends since childhood, and are currently living as roommates. Suddenly, after a night of accidentally bumping into each other naked, the pedestal seems damn reachable to Sage, who finally begins to see that he simply cannot do without Jolie. I loved revisiting Sage and Jolie. Jolie was a hormonal mess, while Sage was the domineering, cocky man who Jolie and given her heart to long ago.
I also loved the extended Vicious epilogue, which we now know will lead to the All Saints High Series, which is a mature YA series about the kids of the characters from the Sinners of Saints series. I don't know if I'll like Daria (the female protaganist the first book of the All Saints High Series is based on) but like I've said before, if L.J. writes it, I will read it.
5 stars for The End Zone.
