Review: One More Time by Laurelin Paige

One More Time was different from Laurelin Paige's usual writing style. I love her dirty talking, alpha's so much, but this book was sweeter, more on the contemporary side. That's not to say that the sex wasn't scorching!

Tanner, the male protagonist, is a famous actor who's had alot of success in his career. He has the world in the palm of his hands, but his only regret is how he and Jenna, the female protagonist, broke up so many years ago. Jenna is also an actress, but her career hasn't quite flourished as Tanner's has. When she's finally approached for a major part in a film she can't believe it. The only catch? Tanner will be playing her on-screen love interest. The movie is a second chance romance, quite like Tanner and Jenna's current situation. As much as Jenna wants to turn it down, she can't.

Jenna is a girl with a plan. She's going to waltz on set, act professional, dazzle everyone with her acting, largely ignore Tanner, and climb up the ladder to stardom. She's not going to give Tanner a minute of her time, on a personal level. And she succeeds. She leaves Tanner in a dazed pile, after the first few encounters. I quite liked this part. Jenna was focused on her career, and she wasn't going to let her old feelings ruin anything for her. No matter how bad she wanted to jump sexy Tanners bones.

Tanner however wants that second chance quite desperately. He wants to explain what happened all those years ago. He wants Jenna back in his life and he isn't above using some underhanded tactics to get his way. But will Jenna give Tanner one more chance?

One More Time was sweet, and a easy read. There was no unnecessary drama, although the plot could've allowed for so much of it. I was a little frustrated as to why Tanner hadn't contacted Jenna in all these years. And I was also frustrated at Jenna as to why she had let her insecurities get in the way of such a great relationship. Those were my only two peeves. Tanner was just a nice guy, and Jenna was a hard-working girl, and they both just made sense together. However, Reeve and Emily will always be my favorite Laurelin Paige protagonists :)
