I read Knotted, the first book of the Trails of Sins series on a whim.
And I was blown away.
Pam Godwin sucked me into a world of hot, kinky, cowboys, who are on a path to clean up the corruption that surrounds them. Their methods are questionable at best. But their hearts lie in the right place.
The first book was about Jake and his childhood sweetheart Conor. Buckled is the second book in the series and is about Jake's twin brother Jarret and Maybe.
Right of the bat you are introduced to Maybe. The girl is broke and is in trouble. She's on a mission to right a wrong against her, and for that she needs to talk to the Holsten twins. She needs to ask them something about that night so many years ago when Conor was violently assaulted.

She catches the eye of the most intimidating man she's ever met, a dark brooding cowboy, who turns out to be one of the Holsten twins. Jarret pegs Maybe as a reporter right off the bat, and when she starts to question him, he nips it in the bud. But little Maybe Quinn is persistent. She knows more than she's letting on and Jarret needs to keep her close to make sure she doesn't stir the pot.
What starts off as a mutually exclusive relationship between the characters, quickly landslides into feelings which neither of them can control.

I found Maybe to be a bit naive, but in and endearing way, not the kind which made me want to bang my head against the wall. Jarret was sort of a dick in the beginning, but it was understandable. After everything that had happened, he was trying to protect his family. After he got to know Maybe, all bets were off. With these brothers, when they love, they love big.
I don't want to give too much away, but I can't freaking wait for the next book! I wonder where Pam is going to take the story next.
