Synopsis: From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster, comes a new MM standalone novel! I’m used to being in charge. In the courtroom. In life. In the bedroom. But then I met him. He brings me literally to my knees. Handsome. Charismatic. Sexy as hell. He’s everything I desperately crave to possess. I’m burning to get him beneath me just to have a taste. Turns out, though, one taste isn’t enough. And he’s starved for me too. Two alphas fighting for dominance. He thrives on control and I can’t give it up. A battle of wills. The bedroom is the battlefield and our hearts are on the line.
Review:
I remember reading Dane's story in an anthology and thinking that it was too short. So, you could imagine that I was pleasantly surprised when K. Webster decided to write him a longer story.
You might remember Dane Alexander from many of the Taboo Treats. He's a secondary character that has been present in many of the stories. He's also Judge Rowe's (from Malfeasance) best friend.

Dane may be a hot shot attorney with an amazing career, but his personal life is shit. He's gotten a divorce from the shrew from hell, and his ego has takena beating during the duration of his marriage to this woman. He's not in the best headspace at the moment. And then he gets hit on by this young hot thing at a work party.
A young hot thing who also happens to be a man.

Enter Nick Stratton, said young hot thing. Nick is everything Dane is not. Young, carefree, and confident in his sexuality. To Nick it's as simple as hitting on a attractive man he met at a bar, but for Dane his desires are not as cut and dried. Dane has wrestled with his attraction to men for a long time, and a mistake in his past discouraged him from following the path his heart wanted.

But Dane does decide to go after Nick that day. And the relationship that ensues is more than any of them could have bargained for.

Dane's wariness hurts Nick at times, and his own feelings overwhelm him. Nick has many insecurities buried underneath his cocky exterior. He thinks he is incapable of being loved, and everything builds up and cause him to cut and run from his feelings for Dane.

For Dane, it is more coming to terms with the man he always was. For him it is realizing that the people who love him will always love him regardless of who he is attracted to. He realizes, him being with a man doesn't change who he is. It makes him more of who he is.

When these two finally decide to go all in, they are beautiful together. They are good for each other.

I don't read alot of mm but K. Webster can make me read anything she writes. I am eagerly anticipating the story of a certain secondary character that popped up in this book.
I really enjoyed Dane's and Nick's story. While I was expecting the hot, I was staggered by all the emotion packed into this small book.
