Synopsis:

New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase returns with a sweet and sexy standalone in the Royally Series. Princess Lenora Celeste Beatrice Arabella Pembrook had an unusual childhood. She was raised to be a Queen—the first Queen of Wessco. It’s a big deal. When she’s crowned at just nineteen, the beautiful young monarch is prepared to rule. She’s charming, clever, confident and cunning. What she isn’t…is married. It’s her advising council’s first priority. It’s what Parliament is demanding, and what her people want. Lenora has no desire to tie herself to a man—particularly one who only wants her for her crown. But compromises must be made and royals must do their duty.  Even Queens. Especially them.

Review:

Emma Chase has an uncanny ability to write a movie. Her words, whenever I read them, feel like they're playing out in front of me in technicolor. Her stories, no matter what they are, suck me in and transport me into a world entirely different from my own.

The Royally series has been such a delight for me to read. Everything about it is like catnip-the hot princes, the palace secrets, the love stories that can lead to the rise and fall of kingdoms. And the way Emma writes them, no one else can. No one has the ability to write a three dimensional story which can do justice to the premise of the story itself quite like her. When Emma Chase writes it, you believe it.

I was so feaking excited when I found out that Emma was writing another book in the Royally saga, and like a fool I thought that it would be only natural for her to write about the next generation of kings and queens (PLEASE DO THIS).

But you must expect the unexpected.

Imagine my surprise when I found out that Lenora was getting a story. Thats right, dear old granny was getting a chance to share her story with us. I admit at first I was skeptical, because all I could picture was the ballbusting little lady from the previous books (picture the Queen of England). I didn't want to read about her getting it on with Edward!

But, what I wanted to know was how Lenora became Queen. How she became the person she was, and I wanted to know about Edward who we didn't know at all. I wanted to know the story behind the couple.

And boy did Emma deliver.

Royally Yours is Queen Lenora's story. It is a story of self discovery, of sacrifice, of power, and of love of country. It is the story of how two people who are bound by duty could love each other so deeply that nothing else matters. It is the story of how friendship can sometimes mean more than family, and how some people can surprise you if you give them the chance.

This is a story of woman power, and how one small little girl can become a being who holds temendous responsibility on her shoulder, and govern a country.

Sometimes the best Queens are made, and even though Lenora was always born to be one, she is made more glorious by the process itself.

And Edward. Sigh. He is the perfect antithesis to her. He is calm, where she is the storm,  he is the fight where she is weak. He is her perfect counterpart, and all Edward wants to be is Lenora's safe place. I found that when he decided to give himself fully to her, he was steadfast in his devotion. There is tremendous pressure for a Queen's consort, and Edward-strong and male that he was-was  perfect for her.

Royally Yours was tinged with melancholy, because if you've read the previous books, you do know that not everything turns out the way it's supposed to in the future. But I also found it to be tinged with hope. Perhaps there are different kinds of happily ever afters for everyone after all.

Five million stars.
