Well Suited, the final standalone in the Red Lipstick Coalition Series from Staci Hart, is available now! Chemistry is my love language. I’ve always been able to separate feelings from chemosignals. A shot of dopamine, a dash of serotonin, and a sprinkle of oxytocin—and bam. You’re in love. And when egg meets sperm, you’re pregnant. I couldn’t even be surprised as I stared down at the little blue plus sign, because I knew exactly when and how, and with whom it happened. When: approximately five weeks ago. Who: one night stand. How: prophylactic malfunction. The upside? I don’t have to go looking for a suitable mate. Genetically, he’s the cream of the crop. His musculature is a study in symmetry and strength, his height imposing and dominant. He is a man who thrives on control and command, a man who survives on intelligence and resourcefulness. A perfect male specimen. And the whole package is wrapped up in a flawlessly tailored suit. I’m having this baby, and he insists we’re well-suited to have it together. And what’s worse? He wants more, in the way of love and marriage. But love isn’t real. It’s just a product of chemistry. And if he changes my mind about that, we’re both in trouble.

Review:
I fell in love with the Red Lipstick Coalition series with the first book. Piece of Work by Staci Hart was the first book I read of hers, but it wasn't the last. I loved this little group of misfit girls, each hugely beautiful in their own way. The four friends all had their own strengths, their own quirks, and I loved how real Staci made them. Caricature characters they were not.
Well Suited brings us the story of Katherine, who is the most logical out of all of the girls. She's a girl who thinks with her brain, not with her heart. But even the most logical of us all want to sometimes have fun, right?
One night of letting off a little steam causes her life to change. As Katherine says "When egg meets sperm, you're pregnant". In this case her egg is met with Theodore Bane's sperm. Theodore is in all sense a "perfect male specimen". He's attractive, successful, and attentive. He also likes Katherine. It should be a perfect match right?
Not really.
For Katherine it never really occurs to her that Theo and she could ever be a thing. She's more than aware of her flaws, and doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. She's more than capable than taking care of herself, and this was one of those things I loved about her- her indomitable spirit. I totally understood why she doesn't see herself as a good partner, and I felt for her. I didn't expect to love Katherine as much as I did, but she was amazing. Theo was perfect. He's just a nice guy, who wants to do right by her. He doesn't have any agenda, except for just being there for her and their baby. The characters were transparent with each other.
I'm really loving these -what I like to call them- "smart romance novels". I'm a great fan of Penny Reid and these books reminded me of her style of writing.
I loved this series. We get to see the girls grow, and help each other grow and come full circle in his book. I loved how their friendship persevered, and how the author didn't make their friendship take the back seat. We get to see these girls become confident successful women in their journey, with the added bonus of hot guys, and it made my heart so happy!
