Review: Concerto is such an apt title for this book. This is really Samantha Brooks's book. She's not the meek little girl anymore. She's been hurt, she's been rejected, and now she wants nothing to do with that part of her old life. She's a woman anew, and all she wants to do is move on. Her music is being recognized, and Samantha is slowly becoming celebrity. But what's a girl to do if her old life is not ready to let her go? Liam is the main part of her old life. He has hurt her, and Samantha is wary to put her heart on the line again. She can't help it however. The overbearing man won't leave her alone, and her feelings for him never really died in the first place. In fact they're stronger than ever, and the power he has over Samantha is heady. Skye's books are always like catnip, but this series in particular...my god. I have no words. The lyrical style of her writing goes perfectly with the musical premise of this story. And her characters are stonger than ever. They all have this distinctive voice, and reading about them kept me flipping the pages. And when a good story has smoking hot sex- which is another one of Skye's staples- it's an added bonus. This book had that in spades. The twists and turns of the story had me on the edge of my seat, clamoring to find out what happens next. The conclusion cannot come fast enough. 5 stars.
