Review:

Needless to say, I was intrigued by the blurb especially the “She’s caught between the two men, torn apart with every sensual push and pull.” Yaaaas.

After the ending of Diamond in the Rough, I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen to Holly and Elijah. After reuniting with her sister, Holly runs from Elijah. She will do anything to protect London, even if that means living on the run. Eventually, Elijah does catch up to her, because no matter what, he can’t seem to stay away from her. Elijah is not a good guy, but more importantly, he doesn’t think he’s a good guy. He will always be his father's son. He does everything he can to convince both Holly and himself of his less than redeeming qualities. In a way, he is daring her not to feel for him the things she feels. We advance further into the story, more secrets being revealed, more storylines developing. You can see the darkness inside Elijah more clearly in this book, and no matter how soft Holly is, you can see the change in her.

Of course, it ends on a cliffhanger.

It’s a characteristic Skye Warren book, and I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to read the conclusion!
